The popular carnival of the 13th edition of the National Festival of Ahwach Art was launched on Wednesday evening, October 22, in the city of Ouarzazate, under the theme "Ahwach Arts Embrace the Melodies of the World", under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
This cultural event is considered an important annual occasion that celebrates the authentic art of Ahwach and embodies the values of solidarity and artistic and social fusion of Moroccans.

Joint organization to support culture and heritage
The festival is organized by the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication - Culture Sector - in partnership with the Ouarzazate Events Association, with the support of the Province of Ouarzazate, the Moroccan National Tourist Office, the Council of the Drâa-Tafilalet Region, the Provincial Council of Ouarzazate and the Territorial Commune, in addition to the Ouarzazate Cinema Museum.
This event represents a renewed opportunity to showcase the ancient cultural assets of the region, reflecting the authenticity and unique diversity of the local heritage.
A rich program combining thought and art
This edition includes several diverse activities, including: activating the space of the historic Taourirt Kasbah, an intellectual symposium on preserving and protecting Ahwach arts with the participation of specialized professors and researchers, in addition to the special carnival that tours the city streets, and thematic workshops to teach Ahwach arts and instrument-making techniques to youth.
Honoring living treasures and preserving heritage
The festival also honors the living human treasures who have contributed to preserving and spreading Ahwach art over the years, sending a clear message about the importance of preserving this Amazigh cultural heritage as an oral human heritage, and keeping pace with the cultural and tourist dynamics in the Ouarzazate province.

The festival reflects how authentic Moroccan heritage can combine authenticity and openness to the world, recording a vivid picture of local cultural diversity, encouraging youth to interact with their artistic heritage, and feeding national identity in the heart of the Moroccan desert.
